Only 3 ages seems dumbed down
So…what are your thoughts on the UIIIIIOHMYGODHETHREWAPIANOATME
I feel like my favorite new part of civ 7 is the crisis & the sanctions. I feel like they make it feasible for weaker civs to stand up to bigger ones and they make it harder to snowball. I feel like it really changes how dangerous aspects of the late game can be and makes it harder for players to just overwhelm ppl with infinitely stacking bonuses.
I really like the perspective on the changed shape of the industry with regards to continuous development at and after release. So many people have zero idea how video games are developed and need to recognize that it is a job, and that people need a good reason to change how they're doing their job.
So with that been said let's begin….there are problems with the UI 😂
I smell …. sniff … SHILL
Hi, first time viewer of your channel, so I really don't know your style. Im just here to say it's weird to make 2 videos. Usually people lump in the good and the bad together. It just allows the developers to point to this one good video and say to their bosses that, "see, people love it!" But ignore the other video.
Quick observation: your review isn't exactly a review. You talk about so many new features and differences compared to Civ VI and you assume we already k ow what those are. I would welcome a proper review for Civ VI players who have zero knoe dge of the changes in VII.
Bongo
Looks good, but I still think I'm going to skip it. I'll let it simmer a bit to finish cooking.
“Eh, it kinda works”
That’s better than I thought the ages would work, good news!
lol that the main critique you had in the negative review (design and UI changes) still managed to come up in the positive review 😂
Holy shit, you weren't wrong Potato.
i loved civ 6. civ 7 is dogSH!T
Fast forwarded videos suck, it’s moving so fast it makes me dizzy can’t even watch it
Hope you earned a lot from promoting this. Unsubscribed. I really liked your delivery, oh well, move on.
Posting these two videos in a cynical attempt to maximise hate clicks has made me lost a lot of respect for you as a creator and voice in the Civ world. You literally played it months ago but come out with some of this stuff now.
Were you able to try the VR of Civ VII? I really enjoy the Batman VR. I wonder if the civ ui might be favoring a virtual playthrough
I won't ever consider buying it until there's a good sale and the reviews by then are good.
Paying full price for unfinished games is just a waste..
Watched both videos and I conclude the game looks great. I was so close to preordering at full price and then I saw the 3 tiers and lost my mind. Probably going to wait for the all in one bundle that usually comes around.
Man, the Civ 6 era is over, huh?
What about a gay review? Where’s that?
What a difference a day makes, one day in the future Potato gives this game a 0/10 positive or negative the score should be the same.
Does it have better policy cards functionality out of the box?
Ur negative review made me want the game so the positive review should make me want it more right?😂
You have lost all credibility and integrity shilling for this garbage.
A lot of rhyming elements with Humankind. It's fun to compare and contrast now that they're even more similar
You can’t buy it till they fix it with a patch 6 months later lol
Will it soda?
I repsect the clickbaity method utilized in getting me 2 watch 2 reviews
it really looks good, i like a lot of the mechanics, but civ switching is simply a deal breaker for me. Maybe one day i could grab it if they create a way to play a single civilization.
How can you say it is not like Humankind? The biggest problem with HK was the eras, which forced you to chose each era among the same very limited pools of civs and constantly played against the same opponents. It is the same here I see no difference. The other problem with HK was urban sprawl and map becoming unreadable. It is same in Civ 7 just to bit lesser extent (as cities spread less) and in the negatives video you complained exactly about the map being unreadable. I don't mind Civ using ideas from other games (like influence). They just chose some poor ideas to copy.
Dude what is this ?
How do you speak for long yet give so little details ? This is very tedious to watch, I want to hear about the game mecanics and systems in at least moderate detail.
You mention the Ages. What are Ages and what do they do ? I have to parcel out through clutter talk to learn that there is three of them. Ok cool but what is their funtion and how does it departs from civ6 eras ? Well after watching this I still don't know
The warfare is better in civ 7 ? Ok cool, but how so ? What improvements were made, how does it work now ?
Dunno
Then you go into a tirade about how much you like playing Rome over and over, sure why not, and you mention "civilisation merging" wait what's civ merging ?
Dunno, no more details. Apparently you can chose different leaders to play of their non-native civ ? How does that work ? Dunno, no details.
Oh we have a split between cities and town now ? Ok, what'e the difference how does that work ?
Dunno, production update event something something maybe
Bro this is probably the longest, least informative review of a video game I've ever seen. (I'd lie if I said I watched till the end to be honest)
ngl one of the best parts about the graphics is that mountains actually make sense
the worst part about humankind was easily the mountains where they make a triangle and instead of being one big mountain it made like a mountain donut with some random hole in the middle that looked absolutely atrocious
Antiquity is pretty much everything I hoped Civ 7 would be. If only that were the whole game.
Boycott this trash. They need to know we won't accept unfinished product while they spit in your face with a $130 price tag
I disagree. His point about replayability is literally the same for every civ game, you can play each civ differently. Every civ game was known for replayability. But civ 7 you cant customize the map. Want to play a desert world? Nop. A island hoping world? Nop. A pangea landmass? Nop. I understand they really want to focus on the exploration age, which limits the world customization….but 0 customization? Changing the scarcity of resources or whether the world wet or dry, flat or mountainous, those shouldnt affect the exploration age gimmick.
And he's wrong, they do copy alot from humankind, and it's not necessarily a bad thing, but you can't deny that they took alot from it.
Really nice to hear the good side too, after hearing the negatives. At the moment, I know I will almost certainly buy the game eventually, I'll put it off until they patch it with some serious UI improvements, or some modder does the job.
I think you missed all the negative aspects of the game. I wonder if…. you lost your mind….
Potato, ignore your naysayers. You're a real mensch and you keep it real. Great content as well.
You're from the heart, that's obvious. Keep drinking the whiskey and playing the gameskey and commentatingskey. You're a force of Good.
Also, that last bit, le grande finale, about feedback to developers, perfecto y importante.
It also reminded/remembered me of this spiritual principle about wanting to see change. In a nutshell, you ask the Universe for x. That's your stated intention. The Universe now knows how to tailor your experience/simulation to meet your soul's goals or wants. The developer responds with said request. Cuz deep down "God" is loving and wants you to have a maximal experience and grow and be happy doing it. And always creative. Creating. Mas, por favor, she says.
[There is a deeper principle to this principle whereby you ask, the universe responds with "Are you sure?" (ex: Yes, I really want to quit smoking. (OR) Yes I'd like to lose my poverty consciousness and believe I can have good stuff/big money, too. (OR) No, really I'd like to survive this cancer and do something more fantastical than my old life.) And, so, if you respond with the same intention again [same action, ex: You don't light a fag, you affirm that real wealth is coming to you, or you try to beat cancer for reals] the Universe believes you / knows you're not a joker, and makes it happen for you.] —- In double reality, the Universe came to you, asked, 'Will you do this thing for me, please?' (Ex: Write this book. Start this orphanage. Be Potato McWhiskey.) and then you exercise freewill to choose the resulting destiny-cavalcade of future life stuff happening, by restating that intention (in action) when the universe does that first and only echo feedback, "Are you sure?" Once you passed that one wee test – and don't slide back in to twatish behaviour – life can literally be relatively smooth sailing into a new reality. (Until you ask to change it up again, hopefully intelligently.) All of us, have the power and potential, to become, a Potato McWhiskey.
Works a charm actually. As you know, because you became Potato McWhiskey when basically you're just another Civ~Loving goober geek, like the rest of us. Oh how I enjoy thy presence in my simulation.
Good on ya, geez. May all your dreams and hopes and Goodness come true. Slainte.
Ugh! I really can’t watch all that grey.
Its a Civ game, anyone who expects a Civ game to be balance and ready on release has not played much of this series
Not convinced…
Merd!
Anything for content to push out.
Sucks.
Have now watched both your reviews, and others. Will wait for the DLC's and improved ui. Thanks for your honesty!
Okay, the argument about games being released in an unfinished state because the industry has changed is a valid one, but:
1) Civilization games were always released as an unfinished product intended to be finished with DLCs
2) Civilization games are not going through any sort of early access despite the fact that the industry has changed, so, they want players to change their mindset, but the company behaves as if it is still 2010
3) Usually at the end of early access you get a real finished product, while with Civ games you need to buy 2-3 huge DLCs to get a finished product, which was initially designed
I remember people joking (or not?) about Firaxis removing content from base version Beyond Earth to put it in DLC to sell. Civ5 without DLCs is absolutely barebones.
I think that's not the best argument. Maybe the better one would be that the genre is not as mainstream and that they need more money to make such games (with all DLCs).
Game is 0/10 because the shade of gray they use in the background of the tech tree is 0.1% too dark.
Me and my friend got a defeat screen when we played in the first age does anyone know why?
